HEW DEFENCE LAW IN HUNGARY
BUDAPEST, April 14. The political police carried out their first arrests under Hungary's new-de-fence law, which includes the_ provision of heavy penalties for circulating either true or untrue statements against the republic. Twelve persons arrested are accused of such crimes as praising Fascism, drawing cartoons critical of the present regime, making jokes about the Government, spreading rumours and ainging in German.
