PERJURY CHARGE
COMPANY DIRECTOR REMANDED
(P.A.) PALMERSTON N., March 25. In the Magistrate's Court Peter Gerard Cope, an accountant and company director of Palmerston North, was charged! before Mr Mar sack, S.M., that, being a witness in a judicial proceeding on two informations charging him, firstly as principal and alternatively, as an accessory in" the illegal sale of 200 gal of motor spirit on about February 23 last, as part of his evidence on oath, he asserted as a matter of fact, that he was in Auckland from February 22, to February 26, such assertion being known to Cope to be false and intended! by him to mislead the court and thereby committed perHe was. remanded on bail for eight days.
