STRIKE IN CRETE
THREAT OF MARTIAL LAW • ATHENS, March 23. M. Sofoulis issued a warning to-day that martial law would be enforced in the Canea district of Crete if the, general strike there persisted. He claimed that the strikers' object was to secure a postponement of the Greek elections. A commission comprising officials from three Ministries would) visit Crete to investigate the reason for the strike.
