The official opening of the 1946 season was held on Saturday afternoon, when the players took part in the annual mixed foursome bogey handicap for the Sidey Cup, which has been competed for yearly since 1918. This year's winners were Mrs Burrowes and A. E. Jefferson, with a score of 2 up. The next best cards were: Mrs Davey and .A. G. Bayliss 1 up, Mrs Dolan and S. G. Coxhead 1 up, Mr and Mrs C. H. Duncan, Mrs Lucas and T. W. Grimsdale, Mrs Strang and R. B. Dick all square, (Mr and Mrs D. C. Bennie, (Mr and Mrs A. B. Jones, Mrs Burn and R. C. Brown, Miss Mcßae and S. C. Gourley 1 down. Mrs Grant and A. I). Healy, Mrs Wight
and R. J. L. Griffiths, Mrs Trewera and J. Dickson. Mr and Mrs A. KTimms, Mrs William and W. W. Clayton, Miss C. James and H. Rackley 2 down, CMr and Mrs F. Sherriff, Mrs Osborne and H. J.
