WOMEN'S SOFTBALL
Mrs McAughtrie presided over the meeting of the Management Committee of the Otago Women's Softball Association, held on Monday evening. Present were Misses L. .Johnstone, V. Fleury, J. Sim, 1. Eckhold, D. Adams, E. George, E. Ferguson, E. Jenkins, Mesdames G. Lucas, N. MeCunn, D. McGregor, and J. McFaTlane. After Mrs McGregor showed the sample of the only material now in stock, it was moved that the making of the association blazer be left until more suitable cloth was available. The Secretary read the names of the players selected for the Otago senior and junior representative teams which have been entered in the New Zealand Women's Softball Association tournaments, to be held in Christchurch from March 6 to 9. Mrs G. Lucas and Mr P. MoMasteie were appointed coaches of the senior and junior teams respectively, and Mesdames Lucas and McGregor chape-
rones. To help to raise funds to send these teams to represent Otago in the tournaments, a jumble sale is to be held on Saturday morning next in the Y.W.C.A. Social Hall, Moray Place, at 11 o'clock. It was asked'for the full support of all teams and those interested in softball to help to make this function a success. It was decided to ask Mr Burkef, president of the New Zealand Women's Softball Association, for a full report on the negotiations between the New Zealand Women's Softball Association and the New Zealand Softball Association, A vote of thanks was accorded.Mi' A. McGregor for fhe willing assistance he has given the association.
