JAPANESE WAR CRIMINALS
ARRESTS BY AUSTRALIANS (Rec. 8 a.m.) SYDNEY, Feb. 3. The Australian' Army has captured 1J298 Japanese war criminals. Of these eight have already been sentenced to death. Whether the Japanese appeal or not every death sentence is reviewed by the army acting commander-in-chief. Some of-the eight confirmed executions will be delayed if the accused are needed to give evidence in later trials. The cases prepared for trial number 384 and 772 Japanese are being held while their cases are being prepared.
