MR E. PHILLIPS OPPENHEIM
(Rec. 11.20 a.m.) LONDON, Feb. 3. The autho?, Mr E. Phillips Oppenheim, died in his sleep at his home in Guernsey. He was aged 79. [Mr Edward Phillips Oppenheim was one of the most prolific writers of his day. The majority of his works dealt with diplomatic intrigue, and titled personages appeared as a matter of course in nearly all his works. He had the ability to'tell a good story in simple language, and he enjoyed a popularity that was remarkably consistent through his long years of writing. - A * number of 'his stories have lately been adapted for radio presentation.
