HOOD SUNK BY CRUISER
DIRECT HIT FROM PRINZ EUGEN NEW YORK, January 2,1. The battle cruiser Hood was sunk midway between Greenland and Iceland in 1941. not by the German pocket-battleship Bismarck, as is generally supposed, but by the cruiser Prinz Eugen.
