He will be assigned for duty to the Expansion and Development Committee, and . will work in co-operation with other Committees of the Council as circumstances necessitate. The appointee will become practically a liaison officer between the Council and other local bodies, organisations, and the general public Orie of the main functions of the office will be the attracting to, and the development of new industries and business enterprises in the Christchurch Metropolitan area. Some journalistic experience and ability to speak in public are desirable.
