MOTOR IMPORTS
ADDITIONAL PERMITS ANNOUNCED (Special.) WELLINGTON, Jan. 26. The announcement of additional import permits for motor vehicles, made by Mr Nash to-day, indicates substantial increases in permitted importations from the United Kingdom, Canada, and the United States. The new; provisions,- : added to those previously announced, will enable 150 per cent, in value of the 1938 imports of commercial vehicle chassis to be imported from the United Kingdom this year; while, in the case of unassembled motor cars, the new proportion is" 110 iper cent, of the value, and 100 'per cent, of tie assembled cars imported in 1938. . , , " No allocation had previously been made in respect to Canada and the United States,' from which it will he possible toimport this year 50per cent, of the 1938 value in unassembled commercial chassis, 35 per cent, of the value of unassembled cars, and 25 per cent, of the 1938 value of assembled cars. '
