Anne, however, was a dull-witted but affectionate., and amiable soul who lived for many years under the influence of the clever, ambitious Sarah Churchill, wife of the famous Duke of. Marlborough. Constant ill-health and suffering darkened her career and she suffered the loss in their infancy of her many children, progeny of her marriage with Prince George of Denmark with whom she lived very happily. Surrounded by clashing interests Anne was possessed of that kind of obstinacy which accompanies weakness of character. She took no interest in art, drama or literature, but she was possessed of the homely virtues, she was deeply religious, and was zealous and conscientious in the fulfilment of her duties. ' 1 pint milk, 2 tablespoons finely grated cheese, salt and cayenne pepper to season, few drops yellow colouring, 1 teaspoon finely chopped parsley, lettuce leaves, tomato to garnish. Slightly warm milk, add cheese seasoning and few drops yellow colouring. When mixed stir in I teaspoon Renco for Junket. Pour into glass dishes, stand on one side until quite firm. Pile 1 dessertspoon savoury cream on top of each. Sprinkle with grated cheese and chopped walnuts. Serve garnished with crisp lettuce and sections of tomatoes.
