OCTAGON TRAM STOP.
TO THK EDITOR gj rj —VVas there any need to have the in-car stop on the south side of the Octagon' shifted so far from the corner? Since the alteration of the tram stop I have noticed intending passengers waiting at the corner as usual, not being aware that the stopping place has been changed. When the car pulls up about 30yds from the corner the people have to run along this distance in order to board the tram Ido not think there was any necessity for the new car stop to be made so far along Princes street. Perhaps the fact that it is now opposite the corporation's gas and electricity showroom is not a mere coincidence. I would suggest that the stop be made two car lengths from the corner of the Octagon, not more, and'that more publicity be given of intending alterations by the City Corporation.—T am. etc., January 24. Observant.
