St. CLAIR VICTORY CARNIVAL

A novel feature of the victory carnival at St". Clair Esplanade which has created much interest amongst the sport-loving public, is the " Donkey Derby " for a cup presented by Mr Joe Brown. The first two heats of the race will be run on the St. Clair Beach under the esplanade at 7.45, immediately after the official opening by.the Mayor (Mr D. C. Cameron) on Saturday night. A large number of entries have been received, and the acceptances for the first two heats are published in our advertising columns. The cabaret has attached a large openair dance floor, and there are many stalls for games and amusements.
