To provide for the increased demand for gas, the''Wellington Gas Company has placed in England an order for manufacturing plant consisting of two units each of a daily capacity of, 1,500,000 cubic feet. After payment of an interim dividend of 3 per cent, on the ordmary shares and the year's dividend (£3,699) .on the preference shares; and after provision for taxation and depreciation of plant, buildings, and machinery, the balance to the credit of profit and loss appropriation account for the past year was £22,490, and it is recommended by the directors that a further dividend of 3 per cent, absorbing £8,364, be paid, and-that the balance of £14.126 be carried forward.
