ARRANGEMENTS FOR SPORTS At a meeting of the Sports ■ and Games Committee of '* the Caledonian Society further arrangements in connection with the society's eighty-fifth annual sports,. which will be held on March 23, were made. Mr A. Wheeler presided. The Otago Cycling Centre, the Piping and Dancing Association, the Marching, and Recreation Association, and the Otagq Centre of the Amateur Athletic 'Association all wrote approving the programme for the sports. It was agreed to purchase 10 medals for the team winning the women's marching competition, and it was also decided to increase the prizes for the national dancing events. The offer of the Dunedin Highland Pipe Band to arrange a drum-major's display was accepted with thanks. It was reported that the Burns Pipe Band would also be in attendance, although there was some doubt whether it would be possible for the Dunedin Ladies' Brass Band to parade. It was decided to ask the patients at the Montecillo Red Cross Home to be the society's guests at the sports, and it was_ also agreed to circularise all members in regard to the function. Mr H. Davis was asked to- take charge trf the tug-o'-war, and the committee decided to inspect the Caledonian Ground in order to make detailed arrangements for the lay-out of the various sports. »
