GRAND. ' The Caribbean Mystery,' which commenced a season at the Grand vesterdav, stars James Dunne, Sheila "Ryan, aiid Edward Ryan. The story, which is packed with thrills, tells of a strange island that was a tropical paradise by day and a lagoon of death by night, and the mystery surrounding eight persons who entered its swampland, never to return alive. The associate feature, ' The Lamp Still Burns,' a Two Cities production released by G.8.D., has a distinguished cast which, besides the professional film actors, contains many real nurses from one of Britain's largest hispitals. ' MAYFAIR. Jennifer Jones and Willian Eythe are featured in Twentieth CenturyFox's dramatisation of Franz Werfel's ' The Song of Bernadette,' which opened a season at the Mayfair yesterday. Miss Jones, in the title role of the Maid of Lourdes, makes an auspicious debut. From the moment when Bernadette Soubirous, the young daughter fr of an impoverished family, sees the Vision of " The Beautiful Lady," ' Song of Bernadette ' is a rare experience in " movie " entertainment. There are many dramatio moments in the film, such as when Bernadette is taken into court to deny having seen the vision.
