BROADCAST FOR NAZIS
TEN YEARS' IMPRISONMENT (ißec. 10.25 a.m.) LONDON, Jan. 22. Leonard Banning, found guilty at the Old Bailey of helping the enemy, was sentenced to 10 years' penal servitude. [Banning, aged 37, British school teacher, who was stated to have taught in Berlin before the war, pleaded not guilty to charges of assisting the enemy by malting propaganda records and broadcasting. The prosecution said Banning at the outbreak of war tried to return to Britain, but failed. He was imprisoned, and after his release agreed to 'broadcast for the Germans.]
