BOUND FOR BATAVIA
INTERNEES FROM CENTRAL JAVA BATAVIA, January 21. The Indonesian Government has announced that 156 internees are bound! for Batavia from the Indonesian stronghold of Malangunder T.K.R. (Peace Preservation Corps) escort. This announcement is the first evidence of success in the complex negotiations which have been going on since December 12 between British and T.K.R. officers. It is reported that further technical discussions are being held to arrange for a regular flow of internees from Central Java to Batavia. There are believed to be 2,500 refugees, Eurasians and Dutch, at Malang, where the Indonesians had removed them frpm Sourabaya.
