PRESIDENT'S PROPOSALS MODIFIED
(Rec. 11.15 a.m.) WASHINGTON, January 22. The House Labour Committee, bylO votes to 8, approved a modified version of President Truman's proposal for fact finding boards to handle major industrial disputes. The measure, as approved by the committee, will establish fact finding hoards, but it will not give them power to subpoena witnesses, books or records. It also eliminates the 30-day cooling off period while the hoard deliberates. The Bill will probably go before the House next week.
