U.S. PLANS FOR DISPOSAL OF OUTPUT
WASHINGTON, January 21. The State Department has confirmed reports of American plans to ship cotton to revive the German and Japanese), textile industries, but has denied vigorously that the United States is moving toward' a softer* peace programme with which the Allies would disagree. It emphasised that only sufficient of the output of the revived industries of Germany and Japan to meet domestic needs would remain in those countries. The remainder would be used to clothe the people of other countries, especially the liberated areas. Tl e programme would require the consent o| the other occupying Powers,
