RESUMPTION MAY BE DELAYED RESTRICTIONS ON POWER NOT OBSERVED (Rec. noon.) SYDNEY, Dee, 27, The general resumption of industry on January 7 as planned by the Government will not be possible unless the public faithfully observes the restrictions on. the use of gas and electricity in their homes. These restrictions—-the most drastic ever imposed in New South Wales—were suspended at 7 p.m. on Monday, but came into force again at midnight last night. The power authorities fear the people may not observe the restrictions after the Christmas amnesty. The prohibition of the use of power by-industry and commerce has thrown 500.000 workers out of employment.
Coal miners will resume work after their Christmas holidays on January 7, and the State Government had planned for a general resumption of industry on that day. but unless the restriction is observed power will not be available for industry on the date planned, '
