WAR CRIME TRIALS
WAKE ISLAND FINDINGS KWAJALETN, Dec. 26. Rear-admiral Sakaibara has been sentenced to be hanged follotving the Wake Island trial. Lieutenant-com-mander Tachbana, his executive officer, w’as also given the death sentence. Sakaibara told the court before the sentence was read: ” The people who planned and carried out the dropping of the atomic bombs on Japan should also he regnidm! as war criminals, the same as we are.”
