EIGHT HOLIDAY MEETINGS
Record at Ashburton
Weather Hits Dunedin Totalisator investments at the eight Boxing Day meetings amounted to £542,142 10s, an increase of £9,403 10s on the comparative previous days. Large attendances were reported at all engagements, including record figures at Westport, with the exception of Wingatui, where adverse weather conditions were reflected in a £4OO drop in gate takings. Westport and Taranaki were the only clubs to enjoy fine weaiher throughout the meeting. A significant feature of the totalisator figures is that only one club, Ashburton, reported a record turnover.
