FLOATING MENACE
MINES ADRIFT DFF ENGLAND'S SHORES "~ NEW GALE WARNING ISSUED (Rec. 11 a.m.) LONDON, Dec. 21. Ships and coast observers to-day reported 21 mines adrift off the south coast of England. The Air Ministry has issued warnings of a new gale in the Channel area. One mine washed up on the Hastings sea front made necessary a diversion of traffic. Explosions can be heard along most of the south coast as mines blow up or are exploded by naval parties.
