MURDERED AUSTRALIAN AIRMEN

JAP. OFFICER SENTENCED TO DEATH (Rec. 1.55 p.m.) SYDNEY, Dec. 22. Found guilty of the murder of two Australian airmen who crashed *in Northern Celebes on June 19, 1945, Lieutenant Yanomura has been sentenced to death by shooting by tha Australian court at Morotai. Yano-, mura, who is 28, and a permanent navy officer, pleaded for clemency on the grounds that he had never previously ill-treated prisoners, and he to avoid having executions in his area.
