EMERGENCY MEALS FOR BRITISH M.P.s.-Field kitchens set up in the grounds of the Houses of Parliament saved the day for hungry Members who were threatened with a foodless day by the gas strike which recently upset the cooking arrangements of Londoners. The chefs, used to the recently-installed kitchen appliances which have brought the parliament kitchens up to modern standard, struggled with the more primitive forms of cooking apparatus, and managed to turn out creditable meals on the outdoor ranges.
