THE BRITISH OPEN PRIZE MONEY DOUBLED LONDON, December 21. The St. Andrews Golf Club announces that the prize money for. the British Open Golf Championship, to be held on July 1, 1946, will be doubled, bringing the total to £I,OOO. The winner will receive £l5O, the runner-up £100; third, £75; fotfrth. £SO: fifth, £25; and the next 35 competitors £ls each.
