BUDAPEST BANKS CLOSED
SEQUEL TO BANK NOTE LEVY (Rec. 8 a.m.) LONDON, Dec. 20. Business in Budapest is temporarily paralysed in consequence' of a Government order to-day closing all banks as a sequel to an announcement that a 75 per cent, levy would be imposed oil high denomination bank notes, stated Reuter’s Budapest correspondent. Tim lew was to lie collected by ■stamps affixed to the notes. Unstamped notes were to be worthless after January 0.
