PROTEST TO POLAND
PRESS ATTACKS ON BRITAIN (Rec. S a.m.) LONDON, Dec. 20. The British Ambassador in Warsaw, Mr Cavendish Bentinck, has made vigorous representations to the Polish Government regarding repeated attacks on Britain in the Polish Press, says the ‘ Daily Telegraph’s ’ diplomatic correspondent. The Polish Press launched bitter attacks on Britain regarding British claims in respect of Polish indebtedness on account of the Polish armed forces. Mr Cavendish Bentinck pointed out to the Polish Government that the British case was misrepresented in the Press, which was under Government control- The view ‘ was taken that the elections in the near future could not be called free if the public were subjected to a Governmentcontrolled propaganda news service. So far little, if anvthing, has been published in Poland concerning the extent of the British contribution to the upkeep of the Polish armed forces.
