BRITAIN'S POLICY
STATEMENT IN COMMONS (Itec. 11.45 a.m.) LONDON, Dec. 20. Britain’s policy in Siam is based ou the desire to renew as soon as possible the friendly and cordial relations existing before the war, and see Siam resume its place as a sovereign, independent, and prosperous country, said Mr H. McNeil (Foreign Under-Secre-tary), in the House of Commons. He welcomed the opportunity of stating Britain’s policy in view of the verv misleading and tendentious statements appearing in the foreign Press. Britain, however, felt that she was entitled to require Siam to take measures for restitution for the injury, loss and damage caused to Allied interests.
