PASSENGER SERVICES
Sf PERMITS GRANTED A sitting of the Dunedin Metropolitan Transport Licensing Authority was held yesterday afternoon. Present were Mr L. J. Ireland (chairman), Messrs D. C. Cameron and R. F. Barr. The Dunedin Corporation Transport Department applied for a seasonal passenger service license for routes in and around Dunedin and around Otago Peninsula between Christmas Day and Easter Monday, both days inclusive. It was explained that such licenses were held by the department until two years ago when they were withdrawn on account of the serious .tyre and petrol shortage. It was now desired to reintroduce the services and the applications were for the period stated and other public, holidays. There was no objection and the application was granted. An application from the Peninsula Motor Service for an amendment to the time-table for its continuous passenger service license between Dunedin and Harrington Point was also granted, there being no objection.
