BAPTIST ASSEMBLY
THIS MORNING'S SESSION
THEOLOGICAL COLLEGE NOMINATIONS The sixty-third annual assembly of the Baptist Union and Missionary Society of New Zealand! continued its deliberations this morning under the chairmanship of the president (Rev. L. J. Boulton Smith).
The following graduates from the New Zealand Baptist College were accepted as probationer ministers:— Messrs G. L. Crawford, A. J. Wakelin, and I. M. Christensen.
The Revs. H. E. Whitten, A. J. Browning, and J. J. Burt, probationary were accorded ministerial recognition. Pastors A. V. Brown and C. H. Barton were transferred from, the list of home missionaries to the ministerial list. The following were. accepted as students in the Theological College Messrs R. Finlay, R. C. Bullen, C. Arey, and! R. Wilkie. Mr W. H. Newton was elected a life governor of the Theological College in recognition of his notable, services to the college over a long period of years. PEACE AND THANKSGIVING FUND. The report of the peace and thanksgiving fund indicated that the denomination had entered into the project with enthusiasm. The object of the fund was £20,000 for forward work, and to date more than £5,500 had been received, and a number of sections had been purchased in strategic positions.
