FORGED BANK OF ENGLAND NOTES
CIRCULATING ON CONTINENT LONDON, October 18. The current Bank of England £5 notes will shortly be replaced by a new type of note. Forged Bank of England £5 notes are at present widelv circulating on the Continent, but it was also advisable, for exchange reasons, to isolate even the genuine £5 notes held abroad. The old notes are not yet being called in, and will remain legal tender for some time.
