Applicants should be qualified fitters, and will be required to supervise the erection, operation, and maintenance of all types of mechanical ' equipment and earth-moving plant engaged oil construction works by the Department. Duties comprise the maintenance of electrical generating plant and equipment. ELECTRICAL OVERSEER, HAMILTON. Salary, £360-£435 p.a., according to qualifications. Successful applicant will he required to take charge of construction work at major sub-stations, involving concrete foundations, steel structures, and high voltage transformers and switchgear, EDUCATION DEPARTMENT. LIBRARIAN, COUNTRY LIBRARY SERVICE, WELLINGTON. Salary, up to £690 p.a. Maximum. Successful applicant should have good academic _ qualifications, administrative ability, and will be required to show evidence of adequate appreciation of the responsibility of library service to the community. Particulars should be given of library experience and professional training. The Librarian will be responsible to Director, National Library Service, for the development of public library services with local authorities on a regional basis, also operating and extending existing service where necessary. LIBRARIAN, NATIONAL LIBRARY CENTRE, WELLINGTON. Salary, up to £690 p.a. Maximum. Successful applicant should have good academic qualifications quired to show evidence of technical competence and enthusiasm for bibliographical work. Ability to originate, maintain, and carry through co-operative library projects is essential. Particulars of library experience and professional training should be given. The Librarian will be responsible to Director, National Library Service, for supervising- and extending bibliographical projects already undertaken by Country Library Service and N.Z. , Library Association. These projects are designed to strengthen voluntary co-operation between public, university, and Government departmental libraries, and will include the compilation of an adequate .National Union Catalogue, Union List of Serials, Index to N.Z. Periodicals, etc. The Librarian will also supervise the work of the Order and Catalogue Sections 'of National Library Service.
