GAS RATIONING ENDS IN MELBOURNE
(Rec. 12.25 p.m.) •MELBOURNE, October 18. Gas rationing ended in Melbourne this morning, following the arrival of 13,000 tons of gas-making coal from Newcastle. While the rationing was in force consumers saved more than 40 per cent., "and enabled stocks to last until relief shipments arrived.
