DEADLOCK CONTINUES
BRISBANE TRAM STRIKE BRISBANE, August 31. A heavy thunderstorm broke over Brisbane this morning as people were trudging to work on the third day of the tram strike. Hundreds of them were drenched to the skin. The deadlock continues, with the. Lord Mayor adamant on the men's return to work before negotiations are opened. The men are solidly adhering to their claims, and the Government's attitude is that the next move, is up to the Lord Mayor.
