MR F. WILDING, K.C.
(P.A.) CHRISTCHURCH, Julf 5. The death has occurred of Mr Frederick Wilding, New ■ Zealand's senior King's Counsel. He had a record of more than 60 years', active legal practice, commencing in Christchurch in 1879. Mr Wilding was a celebrated athlete in his youth, and! before he came to New Zealand in 1880 represented Herefordshire '■ at cricket, and also played for the West of England at Rugby. He was the father-of the famous Anthony Wilding, and in 1906 partnered him m doubles at Prague. Mr himself was a "first-class tennis player, winning with R. W. Harman the doubles championship of New Zealand five times -
