WOMEN'S REST ROOM.
TO THE EDITOR., Sir, —Now that the Women's Rest Room is being discussed I hope some women's organisations will get in behind Cr M. Connelly's, proposal that the City Council draw up plans and specifications for a new ground floor rest room. Surely we youiig mothers are worthy of some consideration? It is most distressing when using tho Frederick or Princes street rooms to have to leave our prams at the foot of the stairs and struggle up to the conveniences carrying the baby, parcels, and leading a young child by the hand; in fact, it is dangerous. Where in New Zealand is there a city of young mothers so handicapped? Even the trams refuse to take our prams after 4.30 o'clock, though we have been visiting our parents at the other end of the town. Cr M. Connelly certainly has the appreciation of us young mothers, and I hope all the other councillors will induce Cr Taverner to accede, to the request and" help, us, instead of refusing.—l am, etc., , Young Mother.
