WEST HARBOUR AFFAIRS.
TO THE EDITOB
Si;:.—May I issue an invitation to the .mayor, councillors, and residents of West Harbour to visit.' over the week-end, the entrance to No. 12 Ross street? The silt, mud, etc., will be left just as it is.. If the street is not fixed up. the water; which has no channel outlet and is_ running down the path *, js undermining the whole bank, and will, if left the" way it is, put the residents of the borough to much greater expense than .a; good generalclean up, a few pipes, and channelling. I can also promise, if I slip through the condition of this path, I shall have no hesitation in putting in ! a' claim. I have written to, and rung up the borough office so many times I am absolutely tired of it, and I cannot understand the apathy "shown to reasonable ratepayers' requests, as it • is, to me, a short-term view. There will. be. an impetus to building after the war, and Ravensbou'rne is likely to be bypassed through this view. This condition is not the result of heavy rain, but a weekly occurrence. I riiight also suggestj without appearing smug, that a little fair play and a helping hand work wonders, and will have the residents of the borough working with their council, not aganst them.—l am, etc., Disgusted Serviceman, April 28.
