The enemy in North-western Germany appears to be falling badk to a new defence line in front of Emden and Wilhelmshaven, as the Poles and Canadians keep up the pressure against the key town of Oldenhurg, reports the Associated Press correspondent with the Canadians. The Germans are preparing to withdraw to a line based oa the Leer as the western pivot.
. The fighting on the approaches to Oldenburg, where the Canadians are making slow and painful gains, is as grim as Normandy. One Canadian officer said: "We have not killed so many Germans-sinco Falaise. They are coming over in waves, dying practically on the muzzles of our guns."
