MOTOR CYCLIST KILLED
CRASH OH PENINSULA ROAD A fatal accident to a. motor cyclist named David Albert Smart, a sandblaster, married, aged 30, occurred about 2.30 a.m. to-day. The cyclist -was riding along the Peninsula road from the direction of Portobello, and when at the south embankment approaching the Anderson's Bay bridge, he collided with the concrete standards, three of which were ■broken off at the base. Apparently the deceased's head struck one of the standards, and ho was killed instantly. The body was discovered by a passing motorist, who informed the police. An inquest was opened this morning before Mr H. W. Bundle, S.M., acting as coroner, and, after evidence of identification had been given, was adjourned sine die. Senior-sergeant D. Vaughan represented the police.
