OBITUARY
GENERAL CHAUVEL (Rec. 12.35 p.m.) MELBOURNE, March 5. The death has occurred of (Vneral Sir Harry Chauvel after a long illness. [General Chauvel, who was born in New South Wales .in 1865, served in the Boer War, and in the Great War commanded the First Australian Division, the Australian and New Zealand Mounted Division, and the Desert Mounted Corps. From 1919 to 1930 he was Inspector-general, Australian Military Forces, and from 1923 to 1930 Chief of the General Staff. He was knighted in 1919.] ,
