The ' Sunday Kxpress,' in a leading article, says that the British Commonwealth Relations conference, which has a sonorous title but no official status, has reached the odd conclusion that Great Britain and the dominions have not the resources to develop after the war all their colonics. . The conference wants to call in outside assistance, particularly from America. This strange doctrine k utterly opposed to the views of Britons here and overseas. ''The colonies are an "asset to the British Kmpiro," the paper states. "It is our privilege and duty to undertake and finance their fullest possible development. Let no one be impressed by the conference's implied defeatism,"
