OBITUARY
MR HAMILTON EAGAR The death-occurred on Sunday of Mr E. Hamilton Eagar, who was wellknown in musical circles’over a long period of years. Mr Eagar, one of Dunedin’s oldest and best-known musicians, was a tenor soloist of exceptional ability, and was in, demand in oratorio and choral work in the four centres, where he sang Handel’s
1 Messiah-’ on many occasions. Ho was also an orchestral player, and a keen bandsman, his instrument being the cornet. He was a warm supporter of the Dunedin Competitions Society, and a life member of the Royal Male Choir. He was of a genial and kindly nature with wide sympathies l and his services were always at the disposal of a deserving cause. He leaves a widow and two daughters, Mrs Muriel Herbert, and Mrs Spencer Milpes, of Oamaru.
