CUP TO PHOENIX The Pahiatua meeting was held at Woodville in fine weather, and the track was .in good order. A feature of the day’s racing was the number of blanket finishes. The attendance was large, and the totalisator handled £35,950, compared with £41.817 10s. The total would have been larger but for the holding up of the Juvenile and Cup pay-outs. „ . Specialist and Dutch Mary ran a dead heat for first, with Gyration half a head away, and Kashmiri fourth, but after an inquiry into interference by Dutch Mary with Specialist, Specialist was placed first and Dutch Mary second. The rider of Lowry Bay indicated that he ' was going to lodge a protest on the grounds of interference from Phoenix. He was told to do so. and the club held up the payout.
