SCHOOL YEAR ENDS

KING'S HIGH SCHOOL The King's High School assembly hall was last night filled to capacity on the occasion of the annual break-up and prizegiving ceremony. Mr W. R. Brugh, chairman of the Boara of Governors, presided. The address of the evening was given by the Rev. Professor J. A. Allan, who spoke of the necessity for having high ideals. The present was an age, he said, which had -largely lost its idealistic standards, and he emphasised the need for boys to develop proper ideals with which to face the world that they would meet after school days. The rector, Mr D. S. Chisholm, outlined the course of the year's activities. In its short history, he said, the school had shown considerable advances, and each year there were added fresh laurels which would help to build up the tradition neces r sary to a new school. Extending a vote of thanks to the Board of Governors, the staff, and all who had helped in the past year, Mr G. Stratton, president of the Parents' Association, mentioned the large number of improvements which had been undertaken. During the evening items were renderd by the school choir and band. Songs were presented by the pupils to the accompaniment of the orchestra. THE PRIZE LIST. form Ill.m.—Campbell, W. R., 1; Allan, R. M.,.2; Wilson, L. V., 3; Wallis, V. J., 4.
