MANNING BASE ABANDONED
CHUNGKING, November 27,
The Americans destroyed and abandoned the Nanning air base, in southern Kwangsi, in the face of rapid Japanese drives through Kwangsi to Kweiyang. The destruction of Nanning base has completed the full turn of the wheel for the Fourteenth Air'Force, says the Associated Press Kunming correspondent. Over two years ago the Japanese abandoned Nanning for no apparent reason, leaving the fieldl intact with a fine set of buildings. The withdrawing Americans took a delight in destroying the Japanese installations together with their own newer buildings.
