AMERICAN FORGES IN CHINA
HEW CHIEF OF STAFF APPOINTED
CHUNGKING, November. 26. Major-general Robert B. McClure, who commanded an American division in the South-west Pacific, has been appointed Chief of Staff of the United States Forces in the China theatre. He succeeds ; Major-general Thomas G. Hearn, who is the United States to take up a new assignment. General Chennault is made adviser to the commanding general of the United States forces in China, in addition to commanding the Fourteenth Air Force.
