SALE OF FERTILISERS
MR TENHENT MEETS GLUTHA FARMERS ' Stating that he ivas much impressed bv the representations made, Mr R. 13. Tennent. .Assistant Director General of Agriculture, last night undertook to give every consideration to the protests made bv South Otago farmers against the restrictions recently placed upon the sale of organic fertiliser in their district. Mr Tennent heard the views of Clutha farmers from a representative delegation which met him in Dunedin yesterday, the meeting being an outcome of a largely-attended protest gathering held in Balclutha recently. Representatives of the fertiliser merchants explained the manner in which it was proposed to handle fertiliser mixtures throughout the South Island, and Mr Tennent outlined the attitude of the Government and explained tlie difficulties, confronting the industry. Upon his'return to Wellington, howjever, he would investigate the complaints in company with the Minister of Agriculture and the Primary Industrial Controller.
