MR JAMiS H. CRAWFORD Mi- James H.[Crawford, whose death occurred on Saturday, was a well-known Port Chalmers fesiUent who had been closely-associate for many years with numerous activlies iu tho town. Dux of the Port (halmers District High School in ISB3I he joined the service of the Shaw Sat 11 and Albion Company iu 1897, and bid! tho position of chief stevedore for many,- years. In his younger davs lo was an'' enthusiastic Volunteer, "beife associated with tho Port N avals anj the Garrison Artillery, and being dewjatcd with the officer's medal and medjls for long and honourable service. JVr Crawford, who sewed for a period of the Borough Council, took a keen iierest in sporting- activities. He closely connected both on the active nd administrative sides with tho Portphalmers Football Club,, the Port Chajiers Cricket Club, tho .Queen's Drive gating Club, the Otago Rowing Association, the Port Chalmers Bowlhi" Club,'and the Port Chalmers Golf C'hrb. H| served iir all offices in the Loval Price of Wales Lodge of Oddfellows, hcoming a past grand master in 189 following which he became trustee <j the lodge till his death.
